Now predicted to make the NCAA tournament field, Alabama will try to advance deeper in the SEC baseball tournament when it meets Texas A&M on Friday.
Texas A&M owns a 13-9 record all-time at the SEC Tournament. The Aggies' .591 winning percentage at the tournament trails only LSU (.664 – 89-45).
The Aggies have smashed 71 home runs during the 2022 campaign. It marks Texas A&M's highest dinger tally since hitting 85 during the 2009 season. The Aggies only hit the 70-tater mark once since 2009, hitting 70 in 2015.
Texas A&M is 13-4 since Trevor Werner returned to the starting lineup, including 12-4 against SEC competition. On the season, the Maroon & White are 17-5 with Werner in the starting lineup and 19-12 in games he did not start.
Texas A&M and Alabama have met 30 times with the Aggies holding the series lead, 18-12. The programs first met in 1995 with a 6-2 win by Texas A&M. The teams took an eight-year hiatus before meeting in 2003, followed by another 10 year dormant stage until the Aggies joined the SEC in 2013. Texas A&M owns a 15-12 edge in the series since they became league brethren.
